DOWA Cochin has charity and philanthropy as one of its charter. Recently two of our friends came forward to offer a few seats for the deserving wards of ESM in the Engg Colleges. The effort was appreciated by all.
It has been the suggestion of some of our members to take up Paliative Care as an activity by DOWA. It is a noble and benevolent suggestion. But what does it involve? It is not only money but constant care and attendance to the patient. Can the members undertake this? Most of them are engaged in some or other activity and they hardly find time to attend the monthly meeting itself.
Have you got time? Can we spend? Cancer treatment needs lots and lots of money. Can we gather enough funds? I invite your concerted views on these aspects before we take up this in an AGM and make it official.

I fully appreciate the noble cause proposed by DOWA. But as rightly mentioned in the post, for most members time will be a constraint due to their occupations. I have the same problem. But I'm fully agreeable to donate or subscribe as may be decided by DOWA.
